At 11 years old, Kamla began training with Dietrich von Hopffgarten who stressed the classical training principles of Dressage, the importance of an independent seat and the development of the horse as a happy athlete.
Coached by Leslie Reid and Dietrich, Kamla and her horse, Mr. Majestic (Sir) lead the B.C. Dressage Team to a Gold Medal at the North American Young Rider Championships and captured the Individual Silver Medal two years in a row.
Over a three-year period, they were listed for the Canadian Dressage Team.
When Kamla was 20, she traveled to Europe with Sir to work with Holgar Munstermann (Germany) and Bert Rutten (Netherlands) to finish off at the Grand Prix level.
Kamla has been working with her current horse, Davina Royale, since Davina was a 4-year old and has progressed through the levels with the help of her long-time coach, Leslie Reid.
In 2019, Kamla and Davina travelled to the Netherlands to train with Coby van Baalen.
Upon her return to Canada, Kamla continues to progress Davina to the Grand Prix Level; coaches other riders and operates her physiotherapy studio where she offers Physiotherapy for Equestrians. www.equestrianpt.ca
